Waitress was slow...didn't even know if they served mixed drinks. Food was great, burger and beer.

A quiet bar where the customers are invisible to the servers, and the bar tender has an attitude like Hillary Clinton just saw Monica Lewinski. Great bar that really would be better if someone cleaned it, suffering from a lack of a manger, shame really.

Awesome outdoor patio!! Bartenders are always friendly and the entertainment is always really good. I really enjoyed myself the last time I went here.

I you have "Pub" in the name of the restaurant, you should at least be able to offer good fish & chips. Well, this place didn't get that memo. The fish here is sub-standard unless you prefer cod(?) that is not white and flaky and batter that comprised 70% of the volume of the fried fish. The chips were just your standard frozen fries out of a bag, not very creative or appetizing. My wife had the chicken quesadilla that was dry and tasteless, not very good actually. The server was not very pleasant nor very interested in our experience. She took our order with an air of apathy, served the food and we never saw her again until she dropped off the check. Never asking if we needed anything else. In fact, when she brought the fish & chips, she asked if I wanted any tarter sauce. I didn't know tarter sauce was optional in the USA for fish & chips. The food was rather pricey for the quality and the neighborhood and with the luke warm service, we were thoroughly unimpressed. I see no reason to ever return to the place. What amazes me about places like this is that they can't even get the basics right. Why serve mediocre food, I just don't get it. It's so easy to make it right, why not do it that way. There are plenty of reviews here on this place that are not good. I would like to call out to the owner(s); HELLO, knock knock knock, anybody home? Don't you read these reviews?

I've been to Mount Clemens my fair share but never actually ate at Madison's. Well, that all changed yesterday. The lady and I went for dinner around seven in the evening during a beautiful day. I wasn't sure how hungry I was, so we decided to split three things: the mac and cheese, the fried pretzel bites and a Caesar salad. First, the mac and cheese: it was pretty delicious. It comes with one piece of toast (cut in two triangles), and if you put the noodles on the toast it tastes pretty awesome. It wasn't the best mac I have had, not by a long shot. But it was better than many others I have had, and I would recommend it. I wish I had gotten bacon on it, but my girlfriend is a vegetarian. First world problems, I guess... The Caesar salad was great. The lettuce was pretty cold (just how I like it) and the portion and dressing were very satisfactory. But $8.99 for a salad without chicken is preposterous, and I see this at many restaurants nowadays. Why do you think people eat all the fried foods when they go out? It's cheaper and more filling. The pretzel bites were mighty good. They give you toothpicks to just grab the bites and dip them in either honey mustard sauce or cheese. Both the mustard and the cheese were DELICIOUS, and the honey mustard was among the best I have tasted. It had a Dijon tint to it. Good stuff. The beer selection is alright. Wish they had a few more options, but they do have Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada and Snap Shot (by Blue Point) on tap. We each had a Snap Shot and it was pretty good. Had a citrus-y taste to it, like a Blue Moon was mixed with some other beer. Don't know if I would have it again because I like IPA's, ambers and porters. It was fine for the occasion. The TV's are all HD and hover around the place. They look a little old but do the trick. Wish it was warmer so we could sit outside on the large patio, or go upstairs. The numerous beer banners were tiresome to the eyes. I'm not giving more stars because of the salad price, mac price and the service. The place was borderline empty, we were sitting real close to the bar and the waitress rarely came around. She was nice but not totally on the ball. Honestly, the best of the three foods I had was probably the pretzel bites. Fun take on a classic food, and the sauces were stellar. I would check this place out at least once. It's worth that much.

I thought I liked Madisons. I've been here more times than I can count and I always suggested it when other people asked for downtown mt Clem bar recommendations. I went there for a birthday party last weekend and was less than impressed. The two story patio is awesome and that gets two stars alone . However , it was so packed outside that we could barely move. The crowd was... Disgusting. A lot of basic bitches and jersey shore guidettes. Drinks are decently priced, so that's a plus I guess. Can't speak for the food as I've never tried it and probably never will. I think I'm just getting too old to hang out at the bars in mount Clemens.

The bartenders are aloof and conceited but the bar is pretty fun. The managers need to teach them that the customers are always right and without customers what do you have?

Walked in here on a Sunday afternoon and waited by the bar.. for 15 minutes. The bar was full and nowhere to sit, yet no bartender. There seemed to be a private party going on in the back, but I didn't wait around for an explanation. I just left and went to Three Blind Mice.

It's bar with ok food. Good place to have deep fried pretzel bites which is by far the best thing they do. They have music out side in the summer that is also good at times. But as a place to eat it's very low on my list of place to hit up.

On Friday night, we came here to meet a friend. It was total chaos because it was the night of the Stars & Stripes Fireworks in Mt. Clemens. As soon as we got in, my friend had to use the restroom. Why am I mentioning this first? I was impressed that they had a bathroom attendant that was only allowing a limited number of people in the bathroom at a time. Madison's was packed with girls wearing tiny little outfits, lots of makeup and big hair. I can only imagine how chaotic & nasty that bathroom would be if they didn't have some control over the situation. This kept the bathroom clean, toilet paper/paper towel filled, and sinks were accessible for washing hands. I've never seen this at a bar, and truly appreciate the hard work of the attendant. She had to deal with a lot of stupidity. They also did this with the bathroom outside. We ventured to the bar outside, hoping it would be our best bet for getting a drink. I figured finding a waitress would be impossible. We waited about 15 minutes to get service at the bar. Everyone was ordering these Rum Runners, which I was told were pretty awesome. Although it took what seemed like forever to get a couple of beers, it wasn't because the bartenders weren't busting their asses. The bartender who helped us was flying. She definitely earned her tips that night. We made it upstairs, where things were a little calmer. We actually had a waitress, who was very attentive and nice. Had I known that's where we were going to end up, I would've gone directly to that bar & gotten quicker service. We ordered lemon drops which kinda sucked. I'm not sure if that's their usual or if they just did the minimum due to the volume of business that night. I don't know if I'll go back to Madison's because I don't hang out in Mt. Clemens very often, but I wouldn't avoid going there either. I'm sure it's a lot of fun on a regular weekend night & not nearly as crowded.

Just got a carry out from here. We ordered potato skins they were okay nothing to write home about but they weren't bad. Then a bowl of the mushroom soup that other reviews recommended what a disappointment!! Looks like its back to twisted rooster for my mushroom soup. Thanks anyways. :/

If a guy can find a good burger and brew in a spot that's also a good time then he is lucky! Last week we went to the monstrous downtown Mt Clemens. Madison's Pub is a great summer time hangout with a huge open patio area that has its own bar and the open layout inside flows in into the dance floor. Madison's has always been a good time and the crowd has always tended to pick up after 10. Marie waited on us and she was very nice and kept our drinks coming. There were a few burgers on the menu that looked good but there were two show stoppers. Anytime there is Breakfast burger and a South Western burger there is going to be a coin toss! Breakfast Burger- 1/2 lb Angus, fried egg, bacon, and pepper jack cheese Burger- 4 Price-3 Service- 2.5 (took forever to get food, not Marie's fault) Overall- 3 Southwestern- Pepper jack, jalapenos, and BBQ sauce. Burger- 4 Price - 3 Service- 3.75 Overall- 3.5 Some one forgot to record any price or drink information, could have been me but I doubt it. It was probably the other guy. I recall a good selection at an average price, who knows though since I was going to partake anyhow. You got to love a pub that has a slogan "Chuck Norris would party here!"

  • The mango ahi salad with tuna at Madison's Pub is one of the best salads I've ever had. It's a bed of fresh lettuce topped with strawberries, mango, candied pecans, crumbled bleu cheese and grilled tuna. With food tasting that good, it's no surprise to find quite the gathering of local professionals dining at the pub during the lunch hour. While the pub is a great spot for lunch, it also offers an exciting nightlife. There is a DJ, dancing, after work happy hour and of course, Madison's patio is hot spot during the summer months. The pub is located in the business district of Mt. Clemens at the corners of the main thoroughfares, Cass and Gratiot Avenues. Madison's downtown location is ideal for pub crawlers as there are several other bars, pubs, restaurants and a nightclub in walking distance. Parking is available on the street and in municipal parking lots, and all parking in the business district is metered. I would suggest putting an extra quarter in the meter, if you may run over the time limit. The police constantly patrol the area, and they are quick to write parking tickets for expired meters. It's better to pay 25 cents extra rather than $10!

A nice place to take a break from shopping and sit for a bit with friends. It was slow when we stopped in so we had very attentive service. Our "West Virginia transplant" waitress, Crystal, was GREAT! As far as the food goes, everyone was happy with their choices. I had the 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup. The California Turkey Sandwich and House Specialty Cream of Wild Mushroom Soup hit the spot for me. The sandwich came lightly toasted and the soup was hot. Would get the soup again for sure. Good stuff... :)

Being that I work in downtown Mt. Clemens, I have had the opportunity to try most of the establishments' for lunch. Oddly, Madison's never appealed to me. Seemed too big, sports bar-ish, and the Bud Light/Corona posters everywhere weren't helping either. But for the sake of thoroughness, I stopped in for lunch - & was pleasantly surprised. I walked in around 11:30 & the place was empty. Sat at the bar and perused the menu. They're serious about their food at Madison's. Todd, the chef, takes pride in fresh ingredients and good value. From 11-4 during the week, a 1/2Lb burger with sweet potato strings is only $3.99. I wasn't feeling the burger that day, so I opted for the buffalo chicken wrap - a healthy portion of cut up chicken drenched in buffalo sauce and topped with very fresh lettuce, tomato, & lots of crumbled bleu cheese. This was a very good sandwich. Spicy, crunchy, & creamy. The sweet potato strings were OK - long almost spaghetti like strips of potato that are battered and deep fried. Kind of greasy & not big on sweet potato flavor, but a nice change from the normal chips or fries. As I said before, this place is pretty big - 2 bars inside & 1 outside on the patio. I overheard the bartender talking about $1.50 draught beer specials - again, good value. Probably gets pretty crazy on weekends, but not my type of hang out. The waitresses were nice enough. I'll definitely be back to try some other menu items once I've made my way through some other downtown Mt. Clemens restaurants.

Maybe they are great for lunch, but anytime I've been there for the nightlife and the bar, I've always had less than a pleasant surprise. They are cheap with their mixed drinks (pretty sure any long island I've had from there had about 1/4th of a shot), and their dress code is laughable. They believe that having a dress code keeps losers and scum bags out..yet that's all I ever encounter at this place. The only good thing I can say about this place is that their security from what I've seen have been great. Definitely see them break up a fight the second it's started and I've talked to a guard about a guy who was definitely crossing the line with grabbing me after I've told him to stop. Definitely threw the guy right out.

Ever hear the old saying "no matter how much you polish a turd, its still a turd" Well that pretty much sums up madisons. Seems like they are trying to be this 5 star restaurant when clearly they are a bar! Serve high end bar food if you must! I mean, frozen crab cakes, frozen rib eye, frozen new York strip, frozen pretzel bites! I can taste it in the food and i wont go back unless im there on a Saturday night to party. So if you like your waitress to be dumb as a doorknob and not know anything about the menu, but she has tits bigger than your head this is the place for you!

This is the place to be! I eat lunch here a lot, mainly because their chef is always creating some great lunch specials that you would never expect from a bar. Chuck and Brent have definitely built one of the nicest and best places to enjoy a burger and beer.the wait staff is friendly and attentive. The summer months are the best here with their large out door seating area with two full bars and outside flat screens.

If you're looking to avoid a high school reunion (and you went to school in the Metro Detroit area), you should avoid Madison's. However, if you don't mind making awkward small-talk with old schoolmates, then Madison's is a nice place to grab a drink. I went once in the summer, and it was packed with fairly attractive people. My friend who typically has bad luck with guys even managed to chat up a gentleman... Guys, you won't care, but ladies, make sure your purse has a few tissues in it before you dare to enter the restroom. I recall the ladies' room being understocked and mildly disgusting.

I really had fun at the bar but on their website they said they had $1.00 drafts and they didn't. They also said they had jello shots, but they didn't. Thus the 3 star rating.
